for art, we had to go out and take a picture of ourselves with our partners. Once we finished that, we painted backgrounds of 3 different colours and for this painting, we used the black background. I traced the outline of the contour lines around my body using chalk, starting at the head area then down. the details were then traced in and everything was retraced heavily. Ms. Sandburg showed an example to everyone in our class on how to use tone on our dresses/tunics on my painting. Soon as that example ended, we all got stuck into our work, doing my uniform first, the tree second, the cement ground third then my hair which is a kind of golden brown with faded blonde highlights. Ms. sandburg had to teach us how to create skin tone, using green and a dab of red, and adding more red to make it darker and white to make it lighter. the difficult part of this painting was the face, i couldn' position the eyes, nose, mouth, etc. properly, making my face really weird. My favourite part of this painting was the painting and the dotting. While dotting, i used a technic i was told, but using white or black (mostly white since the background is black) to outline the focus point. Which makes the painting stand out more.
I was pleased with my painting and would love to do it again.
